Power Input:
10-30 vdc at 1.0 amp (cigarette cord supplied or through DB-37 connector).
Power Output:
Cigarette lighter jack for Motorola DC adapter to power phone and charge battery.
Audio Connector:
DB-37 on box provides connections to aircraft audio and existing headset jacks if controller is to be permanently wired to aircraft. Dedicated pins for military headsets (in and out).
Military Headset compatibility:
Audio controller is available with circuitry to support military low Z headsets. Specify the -MIL model.
Jacks on controller:
Standard mic and earphone jacks supplied.
Privacy switch:
Disconnects incoming audio from aircraft (radios and intercom) and mic audio to aircraft to provide complete privacy and uninterrupted telephone audio. This switch may be remoted using a pin on the DB-37 connector.
Incoming calls:
Ring is heard in the headset. Phone may be set to auto-answer.
Stereo support:
When power is removed from the controller, full stereo is supported for entertainment purposes. When power is applied, only mono audio is sent to the headset. If a stereo headset is in use, the stereo/mono switch must be in the mono position if both headphones are to be driven.
Pass-through safety mode:
If the controller is not powered, the headset and mic signals are passed directly to the aircraft, bypassing all internal circuitry.
Features
System is portable, enabling it to be easily moved from aircraft to aircraft (excluding the antenna, which is permanently mounted).
System is an accessory to the Motorola Satellite Series 9505 portable phone. The phone can be easily disconnected and used portably and independently of the aircraft.
Aviation headset plugs into jacks on the SatTalk audio controller, with no modifications required to the headset or the aircraft communication system.
A cable with headphone and microphone plug is supplied to allow an easy connection to your aircraft audio system.
Helicopter and military low-impedance headsets are also supported with optional cables.
SatTalk can be used with any audio panel even ones without special telephone inputs. An optional handset kit is available for cabin use.
The phone's battery is charged while the aircraft is powering it.
